Home opener big win vs. Bavarians

We're thrilled to share the exciting news from the St. Croix Legends' home opener on May 21st! The atmosphere was electric as our team faced off against the new Bavarians USL2 men's team. It was a perfect day for soccer, and the Legends were determined to make their first home game of the season a memorable one.

The game started with Bavarians taking the lead, scoring a goal around the 20-minute mark. However, the Legends didn't back down. Forward #19 Nick Donovan showcased his skill and determination, equalizing the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Bavarians once again pushed forward and regained the lead, making it 2-1.

But the tides turned when, in the 66th minute, a red card was given to Bavarians, resulting in a penalty shot for the Legends. Stepping up to the challenge, Nick Donovan took the shot and scored, securing his second goal of the game and tying the score at 2-2.

The Legends' resilience continued to shine as the game progressed. In the 78th minute, #16 Carter Thiesfeld brilliantly connected with Donovan's cross right in front of the net, putting the Legends in the lead with a score of 3-2.

With determination and strong defense, the Legends held off Bavarians' attacks, securing a thrilling victory in front of their home crowd. The team's efforts and teamwork were truly commendable.
