Tyler Oliver
Legends Sporting Director
Tyler Oliver is currently the head coach of Gustavus Adolphus College. Before being named the head coach of the Gusties, Oliver most recently spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Hamline University, where he set the program record for wins in a season (14) in 2024.
Before Hamline, Oliver spent the 2019-22 seasons on staff at Gustavus. Oliver was a part of two MIAC regular-season championships, one MIAC playoff title, and an Elite 8 finish in 2022. Oliver is also a coach with the St. Croix Soccer Club, where he has led two separate teams to Minnesota Club State Championships and Finals at U18/U19.
Jake Smothers
USL2 Assistant UPSL Head Coach
Jake Smothers is in his third season with the Legends. Jake is taking on the role of Assistant Coach and Head Coach of our UPSL Men’s Soccer Team. We are beyond grateful to have such a seasoned and passionate coach on our team.
Andrew Shirley
Legends USL2 Head Coach
Andrew is in his first season with Legends. Andrew will be taking on the role of Director of Identification for the USL2. Andrew is a life long club player and coach.
Carter Albrecht
Director of Player Development
Carter Albrecht holds a UEFA B License from the Scottish FA and a Premier Diploma from United Soccer Coaches. He previously served as Head Coach of Vlora FC Men’s UPSL and St. Paul Blackhawks Men’s UPSL, leading Vlora to an undefeated conference regular season title in 2021 and guiding St. Paul Blackhawks to the conference playoff final in 2023. He currently serves as the Boys U13–19 Technical Director at Lakeville Soccer Club.
